27 CLAYTON ROAD
By Beverley Green

Gail is a hopeless romantic and dreams of spending her life with Steve. Steve, on the other hand, does not. Gail is not easily deterred and the little matter of a break up and a restraining order will not stop her. On the 15th of October things take a turn for the worse and Steve ends up dead.
 *
Gail Gregory is now on trial for the murder of her ex- boyfriend Steve Cooper. As she takes the stand it becomes very apparent that Gail is unaware of the enormity of this, and the dream world she lives in gets played out in court for all to see.

GAIL GREGORY
Playing age 25- 30
Gail lives in a dream world, she is completely detached from reality and the fact that she is in the dock for murder is “really quite inconvenient”. This Bridget Jones-style character is loveable and unbelievable in equal portions. (think Bridget Jones meets Elle Woods) A good comic timing is needed here.
 *
PROSECUTION LAWYER
Playing age 30-60
The prosecution lawyer tries to poke holes in Gail’s defence with facts wit and sarcasm but in all his years in court, he has never come across someone quite like Gail Gregory.
