The award-winning Once Upon A Time In Trieste is Silver Pine’s first full length production. It was written by myself and directed by Simon Corble. Sarah Gordon and Carl Bownas excelled themselves as Princess Charlotte and Pinko, respectively.
It hit the 2019 Fringes in July with three performances at Hope Aria Academy for Greater Manchester Fringe and two performances at The Green Man Gallery during Buxton Festival Fringe.
To say it was a roller coaster ride is something of an understatement. There’s no doubt we plumbed the depths (hordes of audience members unable to find the venue, a samba band pounding loudly nearby throughout the whole of one performance, a truly awful review) but we also hit the heights (four award nominations – one win, lots of scrummy publicity, two lovely reviews and full houses where we had to turn customers away).
